Finished
Hi, so it's Finished Object Friday and I am excited to show mine:
Firstly I don't think I ever showed the final article on my Shrug, knit in white acrylic, so here it is blocking:
Secondly, I've finished my daughter's Poncho, for the pattern by Grace Ke click here.
I slightly tailored it and added a couple more eyelet rows, one around the shoulder and one just prior to the ruffles. I also added ribbon to tie at the neck and matched it in the eyelet row at the bottom. I love this Poncho and more importantly so does my daughter. I'm definitely going to make another poncho and I think I may do one for me!!!

WIP Wednesday - 22.06.2011
It's a short one today, just a quick update on another project.
I have recently started this Lace Leaf Wrap and am loving knitting it, so far:
It's probably the most complicated and challenging pattern I have knitted to date, as each of the three leaf sections are not made up of the same amount of rows, so I have had to make myself a chart to help me know where I am for each section - it's working pretty well (if I say so myself). I'm using Sirdar Balmoral, it's the first time using this yarn and I must say, I do like the feel of it.
For more WIP's check out here. See ya later, blessings!!

Firsts.....
It's been an interesting week. Very busy as always but there was time for relaxation, reflection and sorting out some things that have been left for a while.
However, the most interesting day of the week for me was Sailing Day on Tuesday. My work involves doing corporate entertainment once in a while (sounds good but when you're a home bud like me - it can be a bit well....."long").
Anyway, suffice it to say I wasn't looking forward to sailing due to former experiences (i.e. rough and windy conditions (didn't do my hair or stomach any good) and last year was...well... ABSOLUTELY FREEZING!!!!), so you can imagine my reticence for this one (I tried up until the very day to get someone to go in my place but to no avail :).
To be fair, once I got on the yacht, I resigned myself to the fact that I it might not be too bad, the sun was shining after all and it was a lot warmer than last year - result!!
In fact as we drifted towards the Isle of Wight (and I mean drifted as there was no wind for the sails, so the tide itself was taking us there - my kind of sailing!!), I started to enjoy myself. Out came the sunglasses, the shorts (not me, I wasn't that brave, it was the other "sailors"), suncream and then my knitting...yes my knitting!! A first for me and a first for the Skipper (another tale for his book and trainee sailors).
So as this week draws to a close, I realised that I have learnt some firsts about myself...firstly that I actually like sailing (well...weather permitting) and secondly, I have now managed to knit on land, in the air and on the sea...cool!!
(Oh and I have just finished knitting my first Poncho - it's blocking at the moment - I'll tell you more this coming FO Friday)!
What about you...what are your firsts??

WIP Wednesday - 08.06.2011
So this is just a quick update on where I'm at with my Work In Progress(es)...(can you say that???).
- Anyway...dreaded scarf is still the dreaded scarf...nothing going on there at all!!
- Shrug update will come on Friday...
- So, I have been working on this Poncho for my daughter. Its knitted with Hayfield Bonus Aran in Purple. Purple is my daughter's favourite colour:
That's it for now, guess I should really cast on some more stuff. Actually I want to start my lace shawl but have to wait for the Knitpro needles that I ordered. Hopefully, should be here tomorrow so I can begin work on it this weekend...I'll keep you in the loop.
