Finished

Hi, so it's Finished Object Friday and I am excited to show mine:

Firstly I don't think I ever showed the final article on my Shrug, knit in white acrylic, so here it is blocking:

Secondly, I've finished my daughter's Poncho, for the pattern by Grace Ke click here.

I slightly tailored it and added a couple more eyelet rows, one around the shoulder and one just prior to the ruffles.  I also added ribbon to tie at the neck and matched it in the eyelet row at the bottom.  I love this Poncho and more importantly so does my daughter.  I'm definitely going to make another poncho and I think I may do one for me!!!

A Short Update For WIP Wednesday

 Wow.. doesn't the weeks fly by, 1st June already - can you believe it??

I thought I'd give you a short synopsis of where I am currently with my WIP's -I currently have four on the go (well two actually, number three (the scarf) is hibernating - it's the small needles can't face them...... and number four (the square for the quilted throw) is well....hanging around, waiting for me to get bored with the other projects and come back to it!!!.


So what have I been working on??  If you follow me, you'll know about the Shrug - well that's nearly finished, as you can see here:

Well actually its progressed a little bit more than this picture (and yes I did weave in those ends!!)  I've picked up the stitches and now working on the border and then it's done - bar the washing and blocking!!!  I'm getting a little bit excited about blocking this, as I have just been educated on why you need to block - so I have ordered my T-Pins and am raring to go!!

I've also started knitting a poncho for Miss H (daughter in case you're wondering!!).  No pics yet, I will upload and show for next week (ahh the suspense...!!!!)

 I've just bought some mohair in red and am itching (not literally), to cast on for a shawl..watch this space!

Day Off Again......WooHoo!!

I know it sounds too wonderful to be true but what with the Easter long weekend, the Royal Wedding (loved  the wedding dress)/May Day Bank Holiday long weekend - I think I've done quite well for time off work, in the past two weeks.  So imagine my joy, when I realised I have tomorrow off as well because it's Polling Day at my daughter's school...oooo I'm loving this!!!!

We've booked the morning for Hobbycraft - sad I know...but both of us are excited. My daughter doesn't knit - bless her - but she is something of an artist - so we will spend the morning looking at yarn, paint and the relevant accessories thereof and I'm sure there will be a few purchases made...shhhhhh don't tell Mr H!!!

I have to go out in the evening - I'm teaching but I'm sure I will get a bit of knitting done before then.  In the meantime, here's this Wednesday's WIP photo - it's going to be a white shrug for "moi" - (this is the cuff of the sleeve).  It's my first attempt at a shrug, so hopefully will go OK, as I need a few in different colours......

Oh and last week's WIP hasn't progressed very much (actually to be honest it hasn't progressed at all - it's those needles!!!) BUT I've almost finished the sleeveless top, just the neck to finish off - photo's will come later.
